Abdul-Mahdi: Iraq will not participate sanctions on Tehran


Iraq's Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Wednesday that his country would not be part of US sanctions against Iran.

The Prime Minister of Iraq, "Adel Abdul Mahdi," on Wednesday received the governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdel Nasser Hamati, and his delegation in Baghdad, and discussed economic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Abdul-Mahdi said that the people of Iraq have suffered from the blockade, and aware of the harm done to the people of his wounds, adding: We will not be part of the system of US sanctions against Iran, and any other people.

For his part, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran expressed his hope for more cooperation between Baghdad and Tehran.

It is noteworthy that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries about 12 billion dollars, while officials say the two sides will work to increase the volume of exchange to 20 billion, ignoring the US sanctions.
