Security Council: You can lift the restrictions on Iraq's nuclear, if ratified the Additional Protocol
2010-02-27 11:47:48 BAGHDAD (Iba) .. UN Security Council called Iraq's ratification of the agreement requires the approval of the International Atomic Energy Agency of the United Nations to conduct snap inspections in the country.
The Council's statement said on Friday that it could consider lifting the restrictions imposed on the Iraqi civilian nuclear activities, after Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990, if Iraq ratified the document known as the Additional Protocol to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Council requested the consent of all member states and the 15 countries of the International Atomic Energy Agency to inform the Council moves Iraq's implementation of the Protocol.
The Council also welcomed Iraq's accession to the Treaty on the Prohibition of the use of chemical weapons, praised the plans for Baghdad to sign the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of ballistic missiles and the adoption of a treaty banning nuclear testing. (End) / g / ..
