Nice post T! This is the second article about Iraq and the WTO in less than a week! So it seems that there is much work being accomplished to become more than an observer during the meetings and eventually a team player!
Blessings

Not to dampen enthusiasm here - but this is the cart before the horse. Iraq has to stabilize its govt, its security and have an internationally recognized currency before they can join the WTO. At the rate they're going right now I don't know why the WTO even bothers to meet with them. It makes me wonder of this isn't another M move along the lines of his proxy positions - "just recognize us and we'll catch up with these pesky details later - if ever." Sorry if I'm a little jaded today.

.... because membership in the WTO are essential evidence in the mind of every foreign investor that the system standard and stable in terms of the legal environment and predictable.

These are the Iraqi definitions:
Iraqi Standard: NO internationally recognized foreign currency
Iraqi Stable: Government NOT fully formed 11 months after elections & NO Security
Iraqi Legal Environment: Federal Court willfully violates constitution for 1 politician
Iraqi Predictable: HCL NOT passed after 4 years, Budget NOT passed, etc, etc,
